How is it living in Paris and especially in Montmartre??
My Swedish friends often ask me why we moved back to Paris and the answer is quite simple. There is no other city in the world the smells so great, have so many layers of culture, history, inspiration and beautiful chaos. Everywhere. When working full time with the senses there is simply no better place I can imagine to live in (at least not at the moment) And did you know: Paris is the most Dog Friendly city I have ever lived in. Especially the 9th and 18th arr. And if you know me, you know that I love dogs. More importantly Boxers.
Waking up in Montmartre
The best thing with living in this part of the city is that it is located on a hill ”La Butte” overlooking the city of Paris. So taking the morning walk with Simon before the days starts and all the tourists flowing in is quiet, vibrating and inspiring since each corner gives you new point of views overlooking the city. We go up Rue Chappe, climb all the stairs up the dog park side by side with Sacre Coeur. (It's so great that they let the dogs have the best playground in Paris instead of building another tourist restaurant here ;D)
Then Coffee and lemonade at Barkers & Brothers which is both mine and Simons favorite spot. Paris in the morning smells like freshly baked Croissants with Boulangeries in every corner.
Working in Paris
Today we have a full agenda since we are visting one of our most loved retailer Oh My Cream!, plan for a photoshoot for our last fragrance launch NUTOPIA Eau de Parfum and in the afternoon we’re going to see the David Hockney Exhibition at Foundation Louis Vuitton.
I am always caught between getting stock in front of emails all day and running out for meetings and inspiration. I try as much as I can to avoid sitting in front of the computer too much because I want to see and feel what we are doing.
Oh My Cream!
Our first stop was Oh My Cream! in Abbesses. I love visiting this store, not just because they stock CRA-YON, but because the team genuinely cares about what they’re curating. We chatted about what customers are responding to, shared thoughts on upcoming launches, and had one of those relaxed, inspiring conversations that stick with you for the rest of the day.
If you’re new to clean beauty or just want to explore fragrances in a welcoming space, I truly recommend stopping by. (Also, yes, I walked out with a product I didn’t plan on buying. Always happens.)
De Beaulieu | Vintage Finds, Flower Magic & That Painted Ceiling
Next up was De Beaulieu in the 9th arrondissement – part flower shop, part vintage wonderland. I was on the hunt for props for an upcoming CRA-YON shoot, but this place always pulls me into its own little world.
There are wild floral arrangements spilling from antique vases, shelves stacked with old books and curiosities, and golden light filtering through every corner. But honestly? The painted ceiling alone is worth the visit. It's a faded, hand-painted fresco that makes the whole space feel like a forgotten Parisian theatre. Just look up and you’ll see what I mean.
It’s not the cheapest place, but for inspiration? 10/10. Even if I leave empty-handed, I always come away with new ideas.
The heat was already creeping in, and my dog wasn’t loving it. We stuck to the shady side of the street and made frequent water stops. It’s a reminder that Paris in summer is beautiful, but not always built for paws.
A stop at Hotel Amour at Rue Navarin
Hotel Amour is one of those classic Parisian spots that always sparks something creatively; whether it's the people, the music, or just the mood of the place. I always like places with a certain Atmosphere. Its the invisible energy with almost makes you feel like you’re a part of a theater play. Here it's easy, just roll in and grab something, check some emails, work a little meet see friends or simply just be.
I especially love the lush, plant-filled courtyard. It feels like a little secret garden hidden in the middle of the city. The eclectic interior is just as inspiring, full of personality with a playful mix of art, vintage details, and unexpected color combos. I sat down with my notebook and let ideas take shape in between sips of coffee and snippets of overheard conversations.
It’s the kind of place where you can sit alone and feel completely surrounded by quiet inspiration.
Afternoon with Hockney | Fondation Louis Vuitton
Later in the afternoon, I crossed the city to visit the David Hockney exhibition at Fondation Louis Vuitton. I’ve always admired his playful use of color and perspective, it feels both naive and incredibly intentional. Wandering through the exhibit, I started thinking about how scent, like painting, can distort time and space in the best way.
His work reminded me how important it is to stay bold, experimental, and a little weird. Something I always want to bring into CRA-YON.
If you’re in Paris, this museum is such a beautiful escape. The architecture alone is worth it. Bonus: air conditioning. A lifesaver when you’ve been walking all day.
Back in Montmartre | Tired, Inspired, and Grateful
By the time I made it back to Montmartre carrying more vintage glassware than anyone needs. But I also felt full with color, scent, conversation, and the kind of creative charge that only Paris seems to offer.
Not every day is like this. But when it is, I’m reminded why I love what I do. This walk, these stops, this feeling might just shape something you’ll see from CRA-YON soon.
